“Naturaleza Viva”

Work Description:

In the maternity process, that I had the happiness to live, I always wondered how would it be the moment in which my daughter would see the light; and this was my vision: My wife appears completely sketched in the tree that opens in the middle due to the force of the roots that appear at the sides representing a woman’s hands. The hair is represented by the roots and if carefully observed, the breasts and the belly can be seen suggested discreetly with the roots covering the tree.

“Naturaleza Prohibida”

Work Description:

It critics the current social situation.  This is represented by a marihuana plant.  This Art Work is a house with neither doors or windows, which means that this woman is trapped by her addictions and the plant ties her down not allowing her to leave.  She doesn't want her face to be seen, maybe because she's achamed.  Her face and her body appear to be destroyed.  The house ceiling, looks abandoned as a way of showing the suffering of the people who have this sickness.  The light coming above represents God, the hope of overcoming, getting out.  He is the one who inspite of  everything, keeps illuminating us and being who best understands this enormous social problem.
